How every kit gets checked before it ships

KeyKits is a small shop. Every order goes across one workbench, and before anything goes into a box it gets the same three checks. Here's what that actually means.

1. Switches get a press test

We mount a sample from every switch batch on a hot-swap board and press each one. Any switch with a scratchy travel, a dead click, or an inconsistent spring gets pulled. Pre-lubed switches get a second pass — factory lube is usually good, but not always even.

2. Keycap sets get counted and inspected

Every set is counted against its listed key count and checked for warped spacebars, miscolored caps, and legend defects. Doubleshot PBT is durable, but molding flaws happen — we'd rather catch them at our bench than have you find them at yours.

3. The photo you saw is the thing you get

Every product photo on this site is the actual item, shot on the bench. No renders, no stock photos. If a kit ships with a free bonus — a wrist rest, an artisan cap, a cable — it's photographed with the bundle and listed in the Includes spec.
